ASCE Virginia Section members are passionate advocates for STEM Programs and Outreach opportunities, especially in the civil engineering industry. We are dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to explore civil engineering through hands-on learning, competitions, and career exploration.
What is Civil Engineering?
Civil engineering focuses on designing, building, and maintaining essential infrastructure, including roads, bridges, buildings, water systems, and environmental projects.
Why is It Important?
Civil engineers solve real-world problems that impact everyday life, from ensuring safe transportation to developing sustainable cities.
What do Civil Engineers Do?
Ever wonder where creativity meets science, and dreams become realities?
This is the world of Civil Engineers who design, build, and maintain the very infrastructure of Virginia. In the brochure linked below, you will meet four young civil engineers who are continuing on a remarkable journey that started in school with STEM programs. You’ll also be introduced to some of the National Historic Civil Engineering Landmarks that you can see for yourself in different parts of Virginia.
