Please see the information below and the attached Call for Presentations for the 2027 Cost Estimation Summit, which will be held March 16–18, 2027, in Blacksburg, Virginia, by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
If you are interested to participate, please submit your proposed presentation topic along with a brief abstract (3–5 sentences) to Ron Hobson via email (ron.hobson@vdot.virginia.gov) by the submission deadline.

Do you have a success story, innovative approach, or valuable lessons learned that could benefit others in the cost estimation community? The VDOT Cost Estimation Office invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2027 Cost Estimation Summit and help shape the future of cost estimation in Virginia.
We are seeking engaging presentations that highlight innovative ideas, emerging trends, practical solutions, and proven best practices in cost estimation. Whether your experience comes from a successful project, a new process or tool, a challenging lesson learned, or a unique approach to improving estimating practices, we want to hear from you. District personnel, Local Partners, and the VDOT consultant community are encouraged to share their expertise and experiences from VDOT and Local Assistance Program (LAP) transportation projects.
The 2027 Cost Estimation Summit will be held March 16–18, 2027, in Blacksburg, Virginia, bringing together transportation professionals from across the Commonwealth to exchange ideas, explore new approaches, and strengthen the practice of cost estimation throughout the project development process. By presenting, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your work, inspire your peers, and contribute to meaningful discussions that advance our profession.
Presentations on all cost estimation topics are welcome. If you have an idea that could help others improve the way they estimate, plan, or deliver transportation projects, we encourage you to submit a proposal.
